The Duke(y) of Earl

TOR Hershman

Well, I just saw the NBC promo for its scheduled autumn program “Earl.”
Coming soon, leaving soon there afterwards, or so it appears to moi.

Anywho, in the promo, Earl states “Karma is a funny thing,” after which the Santana music and lyrics begin “You’ve got to change your evil ways.”

Thus you have the network directly inferrin’ that belief in Karma is evil.
It IS an underhanded promotion for the Christian concept of ‘Be as awful as you want then ask a super hero in outer space to give you a free-pass’ as are many other “Seemingly”
non-propagandized shows ruled over by the FCC.

Why?
Simple, as stated in “All The President’s Men,” “Follow the money.”

If you can get a rich person to give you a million dollars a year, you’ll get a million bucks a year.
If you can get a million workers to give you ten-cents a week, you’ll have at the end of a year.....see?

Of course Karma is as big-o-crock of bovine feces as is a hackneyed hobgoblin with a pointy glutes maximus and/or a perforated Hippie Hebrew affixed to a wooden T.

However (& ever on Earth), fear and shame will keep the
gods/devils/cosmic-cogs (& “Earls”) in business, not necessarily with JUST human DNA (Remember - mammals were just fuzzy little mousey things only 50 million years ago and the
Earth has 5 billion years left [Barring a sneaky black-hole or something] and that’s like 100 times longer daddy-o.), for millions and millions and millions of years.

Well, I most sincerely hope “Earl” is an amazingly entertaining show.
If it is, I’ll watch.
